Our focus this week is on what happens after college, when your priorities shift from learning for its own sake to getting a job or starting a career. It's not too early to think about such things in your first or second semester at UTPB, as the goals you set early in the year may require a lot of planning and work before you realize them. This week, we'll have a guest speaker from the UTPB Career Services office tell you about the services they offer.

Reading Assignment

To prepare, read Chapter 12 of College Success textbook (Section 12.1 Why worry about a career while I'm in College) and identify one myth (#1-9) that you believed when you first started college. State why you believe(d) this myth and if your mind has changed over the past 3.5 months, what caused the change. Then navigate to the Career Services web page at https://www.utpb.edu/life-at-utpb/career-services/index. From there, click each of the links under Resources and sample at least one item from each.
