Prepare for class - week 13

As we approach the end of the term and final exams and papers, it's time to consider higher-level thinking skills that college courses are designed to help you develop.

College isn't just about amassing content knowledge. You could do that on your own, given a good library and a lot of internal motivation, or a skilled mentor and many years of hard experience. Learning stuff is important, but what is even more important--and what college, in particular, is supposed to help you do--is learning how to use the stuff you learned, or how to create it yourself.

This week, your class work and homework are designed to help you:

  • Identify and define higher-order thinking skills that are important in your intellectual development.
  • Employ such skills in your college work and beyond.

Reading Assignment

To prepare for class, this week, you'll need to read and take notes over Chapter 7 of your College Success textbook before coming to class. Complete the reading assignment in Canvas before class for a grade. You should also bring to class any final exam or paper assignment from any other class to discuss.
