In high school, your teachers not only helped you learn but also kept track of your development as a learner. In college, however, you have to assume responsibility for your own development as a learner. That means understanding your current strengths and weaknesses so you can capitalize on your strengths, strengthen your weaknesses, and fill in any gaps you might find. Your preparation for class this week included learning about yourself, while your in-class activities focused on how the UTPB Undergraduate Student Success Center can help you move forward.
We want to encourage you to make use of this resource, whether or not you're struggling academically, so your application assignment this week is to make an appointment in the Success Center. You can request help with a paper for another class, schedule tutoring or mentoring, or simply schedule a meeting to speak one-on-one with someone who can help you set academic goals. Do your best to make the appointment for a time before our class meeting next week.
