Scheduling Classes

Access  MY.UTPB.EDU

  1. Check to see if you have any holds, if not, you are clear to register. 
  2. Search for courses using “Class Search” or directly go to “Enroll in Courses”
  3. You can add courses to your Shopping Cart for your Advisor to review. Your Advisor cannot modify your Shopping Cart and the Shopping Cart does not guarantee a place for you in that course.
  4. To add courses, click Enroll in Classes >>> Add >>> Find Classes / Class Search. Enter the course subject (i.e. MNGT) and the course number if you know it (i.e. 3310). To search for “Online Only” courses, select the drop down menu next to Location and select “9 Online”
  5. Select the desired course. After you have successfully added all of your courses into your Shopping Cart, you will want to click“Proceed to Step 2 of 3” which should be in green and finish the checkout process.
  6. If you cannot pass on and get a red error message, click the read error message. If the course is successfully added, you will see a green check mark and it will be added to your Course Schedule.

Changing Your Schedule

Add - After you initially fill out your schedule, you may want to add a course. You can do so online through my.UTPB.edu or by contacting your Academic Advisor.

Drop - A Drop is defined as removing one or more courses from your schedule while remaining enrolled in other courses.  It is considered dropping a course only if you are still enrolled in at least one course at UTPB after you drop remove a class.  If you attempt to drop all your courses, you are considered withdrawing from UTPB.   • Last day to drop without creating an academic record date posted, no permissions required.  Look at the Academic Calendar Links to an external site. . The exact day for dropping a course without a grade i.e. academic record.
  • Next deadline is Last day to drop or withdraw date.  If you missed the first drop date, you must obtain the permission of the instructor by the next drop/withdraw date.  Permission can be obtained through an email to the instructor requesting permission to drop.  Approved drops are forwarded to registrar@utpb.edu. The request must be obtained prior to the end of the "last day to drop".  You will receive a confirmation email that the drop has been processed.  Keep the email from the Registrar about drop for your records.

Withdraw - A withdraw is defined as dropping ALL courses - you are withdrawing from UTPB. A withdrawal form must be completed with the Registrar's office in order to cease enrollment in all courses for the semester.

Drops and withdrawals become effective the date the completed written request with all required signatures is received by the Registrar's Office.

The Cost of Change

Is there a PENALTY? -  Drop a course BEFORE the 1st day of class or during late registration period posted on Academic Calendar  Links to an external site. for 100% refund. 

NO REFUND for dropped courses after the last day to drop a course with a refund as listed in the appropriate Academic Calendar Links to an external site..

Special Circumstances

I is for Incomplete All students are required to complete the course within the semester they are signed up. Incomplete grades for the course are rarely given and will only be granted if the student has complete at least half or 75% of the course with a grade of ‘C’ or better and provides a valid, documented excuse for not being able to complete the course on time and has contacted the instructor prior to the scheduled last class to request an extension. The student signs a contract with the instructor that includes the incomplete course activities and the new due dates.
